A WLAAC Fall Performance will be a one-man stage show.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6TH 2009 – STAGE PERFORMANCE OF “IN THE SHADOW OF THE RAVEN”. An interpretation of the life and works of Edgar Allen Poe. Edgar Allen Poe rises from the scene of his mysterious death to tell his life story including reciting some of his famous works: Annabel Lee, The Raven, The Tell Tale Heart. This is a one man stage performance by Duffy Hudson.
Doors open at 6:30pm, performance at 7:30pm at Local Grounds, 105 W. 3rd Street, West Liberty, IA
We are fortunate to have the talents of Mr. Duffy Hudson perform in West Liberty. Mr. Hudson comes from Los Angeles California to Iowa for a fall tour to perform and teach at various stage venues including workshops with schools and community libraries. He is an actor, director, writer, teacher and filmmaker that has performed on and off Broadway. On Broadway he performed in “The Misanthrope” and off Broadway he has performed in dozens of productions including: Twelfth Night, Winters Tale, Macbeth and A Report To The Academy at The Actors Studio. He attended Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway and spent 14 years on the New York stage. Duffy has directed over 300 theatrical pieces including workshop productions with Brooke Shields, Jessica Lange, Don Johnson, Tatum O’Neal and Marlo Thomas. Mr. Hudson co-founded several theatre companies most notably, I Comici Confidenti, a troupe of Commedia Dell’Arte in New York City. He currently is co-owner of Cincinnatus Motion Picture, an independent motion picture production company that produces commercials, industrial long forms and its first feature film in 2007 “Tattered Angel”. Throughout his career, Duffy has been active as a teacher on a professional as well as the collegiate level combining his many experiences and talents to a variety of classroom settings. This is a unique opportunity of offer such a talented perspective to our community.
